Tourmaline

Each wild pearl a lie to keep her safe

Every calcite word a layer to never speak

Your mineral love hardens under my tongue

Slowly, deeply

My moss eyes will watch you through the tourmaline

I will close your mouth with sutures of gold

And smother your questions in cashmere

Carry this now for I cannot

I am the chosen pillar, the atlas of your world

Choked with agate in silver silence

Generosity always has a price

And hanging from your argent neck – my lapis death

Worked from ancient hands

Strung with faded coral and a primrose grin

All for you and from you always
