Hello I’m Jess!
I’m a comics writer, illustrator and archivist born in London but now based in Birmingham, UK.
My work uses both analog and digital practices, as well as poetry and humour to explore themes of voluntary childlessness, mental health, injustice, mythology and more. I was one of Broken Frontier’s six spotlighted artists from Small Press Day 2021 and was awarded joint runner-up prize in the Observer/Cape/Comica Graphic Short Story Prize in 2019 for my comic ‘Four Hands’. I was also shortlisted for the same prize in 2017 for my comic ‘Varicose Veins’.
